Plots gebeurt er iets in je leven wat niet in je planning zit... ja, het overkomt ons allemaal... het kan iets goeds zijn of het kan iets slecht zijn. Alles gebeurt voor een reden en het is dat het zo moet zijn...
Het verhaal begint dat je met een ‘zotte’ kop zegt: wat als er nu eens iemand op de romp klopt en zegt: “hey wat een prachtig jacht hebben jullie, die wil ik wél!”
En zo geschiede...
Het ging allemaal heel snel! Plots hadden we twee geïnteresseerden... en onze dame ⛵️ werd niet eens op de markt aangeboden! Voor we het beseften werden er handtekeningen gezet en expertises gepland... we wisten niet wat ons allemaal overkwam... Willen we dit wél? Is dit de juiste beslissing? Een dubbel gevoel overvalt ons. Slapeloze nachten & emoties gaan met ons aan de haal... Dit kan ons wél andere opties geven & nieuwe deuren openen tijdens deze rare wereld in de ban van een pandemie... Het is dat het zo moet zijn!
En nu... nu is Zensation verkocht! En is ze officieel een inwoner van Nieuw-Zeeland! Een ‘Kiwi’ met haar nieuwe Kiwi-eigenaars!
In juni 2012 kruiste dit prachtige jacht ons pad en zij was precies wat we zochten voor ons droomplan. In juli konden we haar tot ‘Zensation’ dopen en droomden we verder over onze zeilreis rond de wereld.
9 mei 2015 was het zover... we gooiden de trossen los in Antwerpen en daar gingen we...
Duizenden zeemijlen en 6 jaar later zijn we nu boot- & dakloos!
We zijn nog lang niet klaar met deze fantastische levensstijl en kijken al uit naar een nieuwe dame en het waarmaken van nieuwe plannen. We kijken ernaar uit om onze zeilavonturen verder te zetten. Hoe, wat, waar, wanneer,... dat zal de toekomst uitmaken en de situatie in de wereld. We verheugen ons alvast, om binnen enige tijd, terug te keren naar België en dichter bij onze familie & vrienden te zijn.
Maar eerst gaan we deze prachtige zeilboot, die voor altijd een speciale plek in ons hart zal hebben, naar ‘Havelock’ (Zuidereiland) varen, onze laatste zeiltrip samen naar de indrukwekkende sprookjesachtige ‘Marlborough Sounds’, die haar achtertuin wordt om in te vertoeven. Daarna willen we hier nog enige tijd housesitten, tot de COVID-situatie in België een beetje onder controle is.
Liefste Zensation, we zijn benieuwd welke zeilavonturen je nog gaat beleven in dit prachtige land met je sympathieke nieuwe eigenaars. We gaan je zeker volgen! En wie weet, misschien kruisen onze vaarwateren elkaar weer... Bedankt voor 9 fantastische jaren samen en om ons veilig te begeleiden tijdens onze avonturen samen naar de meest afgelegen idyllische eilanden & dito plekjes. We zullen je missen...
Op naar een nieuw ‘hoofdstuk’ in ons leven!

Suddenly something happens in your life that is not in your plans ... yes, it happens to all of us ... it could be a good thing or it could be something bad. Everything happens for a reason and because it is ‘meant to be’...
The story began that we said hypothetically with “crazy” heads: what if someone were to knock on the hull and say: “hey what a beautiful yacht you have, I want it!"
And so it happened ...
It all happened very quickly! Suddenly we had two interested people... and our lady ⛵️ was not even offered on the market! Before we realized it, signatures were signed and surveys planned... we didn't know what was happening to us... Do we want this? Is this the right decision? Mixed feelings overwhelmed us. Sleepless nights & our emotions running away with us ... This may give us other opportunities & open new doors in this weird world under the spell of a pandemic ... It is meant to be!
And now ... now Zensation is sold! And she is officially a resident of New Zealand! A "Kiwi" with her new Kiwi owners!
In June 2012 this beautiful yacht crossed our path and she was exactly what we were looking for to realise our dream plan. In July we were able to name her "Zensation" and we continued to dream about our sailing trip around the world.
May 9, 2015 was the day ... we cut the lines in Antwerp and off we went ...
Thousands of nautical miles and 6 years later we are now boat-less & homeless!
We are far from done with this amazing lifestyle and are already looking forward to a new lady and making new plans come true. We look forward to continuing our sailing adventures. How, what, where, when ... that will the future and the situation in the world decide. We’re looking forward to returning to Belgium in the near future and to being closer to our family & friends.
But first we will sail this beautiful sailboat, which will forever have a special place in our hearts, to 'Havelock' (South Island), our last sailing trip together to the impressive fairytale 'Marlborough Sounds', which will be her sailing backyard. Then we want to do some housesitting for a while in NZ, whilst we wait until the Covid-situation in Belgium settles down.
Dearest Zensation, we are curious which sailing adventures you will experience in this beautiful country with your kind new owners. We will definitely follow you! And who knows, maybe our waterways will cross again ... Thank you for 9 fantastic years together and for guiding us safely on our adventures together to the most remote idyllic islands & places. We will miss you...
On to a new "chapter" in our lives!
